With this 2024 edition, the Bundesverband GebäudeGrün e.V. (BuGG) is publishing its fifth consecutive fifth consecutive year of the “BuGG Building Green Market Report”. It has thus created a reference work of the key figures on green buildings and municipal funding instruments in Germany, which has already been referred to thousands of times by politicians, the media, universities and students.

The greening of buildings (roof, façade and interior greening) combines a variety of positive
positive effects, for which scientific studies with facts, figures and data have been available for many years.
Greenery on buildings can be used in a variety of ways, including as a climate adaptation measure, to preserve and promote biodiversity, as a component of rainwater management and as protection against noise and particulate matter.

Intensive green roofs require more maintenance and are not the subject of this brochure.
The care instructions are intended for all interested parties who are responsible for the care and maintenance of extensive green roofs. It is aimed at both gardening and landscaping professionals and non-professionals. As with all gardening activities in the city, the aim is to use trained specialists for the care and maintenance of green roofs.
