Hot water where it belongs: reliable, safe and environmentally friendly
Description
Patented Roth hybrid heat interface unit sets new standards in terms of convenience, efficiency and durability. Fluctuating water temperatures, limescale deposits and unhygienic admixtures are now a thing of the past: Roth Werke is taking decentralised hot water supply to a new level with its new hybrid heat interface unit.
Efficiency, convenience and durability as well as the conscious use of resources were at the centre of the development. The integrated electric instantaneous water heater with an output of 11 kW provides the water temperature required for domestic hot water preparation in the heating supply circuit when it is needed - precisely, quickly, reliably and without compromise.
Roth's new solution with its 11 kVA electrical output is always below the approval requirement of the grid operator with 12 kVA in accordance with Section 19 of the Low Voltage Ordinance (NAV) and the technical connection regulations (TAB) of the energy supplier. This means that only registration with the grid operator is required, but not their approval for operation.
This is realised by the heart of the new Roth hybrid heat interface unit, the innovative and patented controller of the electric instantaneous water heater. This ensures fast and constant control of the required heating water temperature with precise power adjustment to the process - right on time and as required.
Thanks to the generous range of services offered by the Roth hybrid heat interface unit, the simultaneous use of several tapping points in the home, such as the shower and kitchen, is possible without any problems - and at constant hot water temperatures. This means that consistently hot water is always available exactly when it is needed - without compromising on performance for a carefree and pleasant showering experience.
Roth hybrid heat interface unit: Reliable hot water heating with maximum efficiency
The hybrid heat interface unit offers a reliable hot water supply for every flat with maximum efficiency. With a hot water draw-off rate of 13 litres per minute at an outlet temperature of 50 °C, a constant hot water supply is always guaranteed - and with a heating water temperature of just 45 °C at the inlet to the heat interface unit. The low heating water temperatures offer numerous advantages: noticeable energy savings with the same level of comfort, lower distribution and radiation losses for optimised energy use and the integration and efficient operation of regenerative heat generators and heating networks. At the same time, the life expectancy of heat generators, especially the heat pump, is increased because lower heating flow temperatures are provided all year round. .
"These features not only ensure a noticeable reduction in costs, but above all make an active contribution to greater energy efficiency and thus to the conservation of resources while focussing on user-friendliness," says Stefan Schneider from Roth Product Management.
No more calcification
Limescale deposits as thin as just one millimetre can reduce heat transfer by up to 20 per cent, which leads to a considerable reduction in the efficiency of electrical heating systems. This is also where Roth Werke's innovation comes in: Instead of working in drinking water, the electric instantaneous water heater in Roth's new patented hybrid heat interface unit works reliably in heating water that is regulated much more tightly and is therefore safely protected against deposits and corrosion. "We have faced the familiar challenges - and mastered them with this innovative solution," says Product Manager Stefan Schneider. The smart technology prevents any impairment the flow rate and heat transfer, thereby significantly extending the service life and maintaining the functionality of the entire system. This ensures a stable supply with a constant tap performance. Calcification is a thing of the past, as are the associated functional impairments and problems: "No more energy losses, insufficient hot water temperatures, supply losses due to constricted pipe cross-sections or functional failures of control components due to excessive thermal load," summarises Stefan Schneider.
Hygienic water heating of the highest quality: durable, safe and smart
High tapping capacities are a real challenge in hybrid decentralised DHW heating, which is usually met with an unhygienic admixing circuit. Roth also addresses this issue with its innovative technology. The domestic hot water is heated to 50 °C in a single flow in the heat exchanger, which has a constant temperature of 55 °C. This ensures hygienic operation and reliably and naturally prevents the growth of microorganisms.
Another advantage: "With this solution, we also offer the option of a type of thermal disinfection by selecting an operating programme in the controller. This allows higher setpoint temperatures to be realised for a maximum of 15 minutes on the instantaneous water heater without increasing the heating water temperatures on the primary side," explains Product Manager Stefan Schneider, "and after the 15 minutes have elapsed, the controller returns to the original operating mode.
At the same time, the Roth solution scores with an exceptional service life. This is because the high-quality heating elements guarantee first-class quality without any loss of performance. The heating elements do not have drinking water flowing through them, but rather heating water flowing around them, which prevents the flow from being impaired. As a result, the output remains constant and stable.
The patented control concept of the Roth hybrid heat interface unit is equipped with sophisticated control and safety functions that recognise faulty or unwanted operating states at an early stage and reliably prevent them. The high-quality safety concept includes sensor break detection integrated in the controller and a 3-phase safety temperature limiter (STB), which is activated in the event of overtemperature and interrupts the circuit.
In addition, the flow switch ensures that the controller switches off the instantaneous water heater immediately in the event of a standstill or interrupted operating status and in the event of faults to ensure maximum safety and thus effectively protect the entire system from malfunctions.
"We combine innovative technology with intelligent, forward-looking security measures - for the good feeling that technology and security are a team," emphasises Stefan Schneider. In addition, the system complies with protection class IP65, which guarantees excellent protection against dust and water.
