Quality control of RuB ball valves
Your consent is required
The quality control starts with a strict selection of raw material suppliers and incoming goods checks. During processing, machine operators perform visual inspections and attribute testing with instruments every 15 minutes. Moreover, the quality team performs an additional check on samples every 2 hours.
Leak tests are performed during the assembly and testing process. Certified equipment is used to perform 100% testing on automatic filling lines and residual pressure measurements are made with compressed air at 2 bar and then at 5.5 bar. A 24h leak test is also performed to ensure that the valves are flawless. In this test, the valves are filled with test fluid and then stored at least 24 hours so that a further leak check can be performed during the lever assembly process. Operators also perform precise visual inspections and operating torque checks during the testing steps. The control ends with an attentively verification of a sample of the products priot to shipment.

CP - COMPACT POWER
Vital components for business mechanisation, electric actuators allow automation of valve opening and closing. As a result, managing fluids such as gas, water, compressed air and oils becomes much more straightforward, especially where particularly critical situations arise.
For example, when there is a need to ensure a high cycle frequency or the safety of applications, or to deliver high productivity or accuracy and automation in the process, as well as for activating valves located in remote or hard to access locations, electric actuators are essential.
This is why a growing number of companies choose to include them in their systems. Indeed, electric actuators can improve productivity in a wide range of sectors, as well as delivering residential and smart home automation. They have proven useful in the automotive sector and many other industries.
At BONOMI INDUSTRIES we have been producing high performance actuators for around a decade. We design, develop and manufacture the CP (Compact Power) actuators internally. These devices can achieve up to 100,000 opening and closing cycles at an ambient temperature of up to 80°C. They are available with motors ranging from 12 to 230 V AC, from 6 to 24 V DC and brushless motors, with 2P or 3P control.
Using this type of actuator offers a number of advantages:
- Small and lightweight
- Clever shape, allowing multiple actuators to be installed in series on different lines, even with restricted space
- Easy connection and direct mounting on ISO-5211 ball valves
- Robust gearbox with an IP65 (NEMA 4x) casing for long-lasting durability
- Visual position indicator and position feedback signal
The actuators can also be combined with RuB ball valves, designed to provide low operating torque. These devices can also achieve up to 100,000 cycles without requiring maintenance and with no risk of breaking or failing. In detail, we can supply:
- S.31: mini, 2 ways, quick connect mounting kit included, from 1/4” up to 3/4”.
- S.64 low torque: full port, interface with ISO 5211 valve, from 1” up to 1 ¼’’.
- S.64 & k.64: full port, interface with ISO 5211, from 1/2” up to 1”.
- S.65: full port, interface with ISO 5211, from 1/2" up to 1 ¼’’.
- S.76: 3 way 2 seats with L-port, from 1/2" up to 1”.

s.65 actuator mounting hot forged brass ball valve
S.65 is an actuator mounting full port hot forged brass ball valve in sizes 1/2”- 1 1/4” suitable for drinking water (WRAS, ACS, DVGW-Hygienic) or not dangerous service.
It combines traditional manual operation with modern automation. It has 100,000 cycles life design and features low operating torque, to be used with any actuator with ISO 5211 connection.
An integrated sturdy ISO 5211 flange allows direct mounting of electric and pneumatic actuators, with no bracket or coupling required.
- Available with EN10226-1 or NPT thread
- Dual sealing system allows valve to be operated in either direction making installation easier
- No metal-to-metal moving parts
- No maintenance ever required
- Silicone-free lubricant on all seals
- Chrome plated brass ball for longer life
- 100% seal test guaranteed in according to EN 12266-1 RATE A
The valve can be purchased separately, with handle or with a RuB actuator already mounted.

3-way ball valves
Although the vast majority of ball valves are simple 2-port valves, there is a market for multi-port valves too. In certain types of industrial application they offer advantages over the straight 2-port products:
- A single 3-way valve can replace a tee and two 2-way valves, saving space and cost
- In certain cases 3-way valves can offer a safety advantage. For example, if there is danger in closing off both pump discharge valves at once, the use of a 3-way can automatically insure that one port or the other is always open.
3-way ball valves come in two different families – 2-seat designs and 4-seat designs. The mechanical function, the cost, and the market for the two types are quite different. 2-seat three-ways are not greatly more costly than ordinary 2-ways, and have enough applications to be of interest to distributors as a stocking item.
The s.7300 series has a ball seal at every port, and offers a wide variety of possible flow configurations. Positive shutoff can be achieved at any of the exiting ports.
By specifying the appropriate ball port configuration, the T-port design allows flow direction to be adjusted for virtually any situation and is ideal for mixing applications.
Our s.73 multi-port valves can reduce the number of valves required in piping systems and can significantly lower overall costs by replacing two or three conventional 2-way valves, eliminating excess fittings, saving space and simplifying automation. The valve can be purchased separately, with handle or with a RuB actuator already mounted.
The s.7600 series is the right choice for fluid diversion and is designed with robust maintenance-free components ensuring ease of operation and safety. With a simple 90° turn, you can divert flow from one downstream outlet to the other.
It combines traditional manual operation with modern automation. It is also very easy to convert from its sturdy lever handle to ISO 5211 actuator flange assembly.
It features low operating torque and a special wear reducing self-compensating
valve seat design that meets our 100,000 cycle life test requirement. The valve can be purchased separately, with handle or with a RuB actuator already mounted.

CH Actuator - High Torque electric actuator
The CH valve actuators are used on ball or butterfly valves. This quarter turn actuators are available from 50 Nm to 400Nm. As standard, this actuator offers an IP67 ABS housing, dome position indicator, end of travel limit switches, manual override and an internal heater. The new Series offers multi-voltage capability and failsafe functionality utilizing a super-capacitor back-up system.
Technical features & benefits:
• Multiple ISO 5211 mountings. The CH Series Actuators are ready for direct attachment on valves providing two size ISO 5211 and an octagonal female drive output.
• Dome style local visual indicator. A clearly visible indicator allows intuitive indication of the valve position.
• Hand operation. by hexagonal wrench, supplied in clip under the actuator, it’s possible to do open/close operation when no power is being applied.
• Fully weatherproof to IP67. Enhances the range of application environments.
• End of travel confirmation switches. Provides line voltage capable switch up to 1 A Resistive.
• Special models available. The CH family fits the customer needs extending the application coverage on request

s.39 micro valve: high performance for multiple applications
The s.39 micro valve is available in sizes from 1/8” to ¼”, is made of forged brass and is guaranteed for life. It is designed for high pressure, up to 60 bar, higher performance than other mini and/or micro valves currently on the market. It has many uses: it can be used in fluid dynamics, with seals made of materials that are compatible with refrigerated technical gases in the HVAC field (e.g. filling air conditioning systems with gas), or for supplying compressed air tools. Basically, this type of valve is ideal for all situations in which small fluid volumes need to be handled while maintaining high levels of control. They are therefore safe and reliable devices for use in heating, ventilation and air conditioning, as can be seen by looking at their structure in detail. The dual sealing system allows s.39 valves to be operated in both directions, simplifying installation, while the silicone-free lubricant on all seals and the chrome-plated brass balls ensure longer service life. They are maintenance-free devices that are leak-tested for maximum safety. Moreover, s.39 valves can also be customised with various configurations, such as nylon levers in a range of colours and different connections. Special tailor-made versions can be requested to meet specific needs.
