About the CSTB

A public enterprise serving its clients and the general interest, the Scientific and Technical Center for Building (CSTB) contributes to the vision for buildings and cities of the future by supporting and ensuring the safety of sustainable construction and renovation projects, to help improve the quality of life of users by anticipating the effects of climate change. Through five key activities – research & expertise, assessment, testing, certification, and the dissemination of knowledge – the CSTB fulfills its mission to all stakeholders in the construction industry: to create and share knowledge, to guide innovation, to promote safety and performance.
