Well-known manufacturers of ventilation systems, equipment and components compose the Air Conditioning and Ventilation Technology Department. Their highly developed, innovative and efficient 
products and services are used in a wide variety of applications in our living and working world. The focus is always on individual goals such as ensuring or increasing comfort, hygiene, safety and the prevention of damage and life-threatening events.

The department advocates economic and technical interests with its members, promotes cross-thematic dialog and the exchange of experience within the industry, with authorities and the general public.

In the Air Pollution Control Department about a 100 companies are organised. They produce extraction and filter systems for occupational safety and environmental protection. The areas of application in industrial production are diverse, ranging from waste management to the pulp industry.

Our member companies develop innovative technical solutions for compliance with legal requirements in terms of occupational safety and environmental protection.

Our specialist department enables you to discuss technical, normative and economic topics in working groups and to seek joint solutions. In this way, we promote the intensive exchange of information, further education and training, and the design of joint public relations work.

The Refrigeration and Heat Pump Technology Department unites companies whose innovative refrigeration products are used worldwide. Our members are manufacturers of refrigeration systems, components and accessories. 

Our member companies work together on current industry topics with a focus on climate protection, resource efficiency and sustainability. 

The specialist department bundles competences from industry and trade and acts as an important interface. We also manage the transfer of knowledge into practice through goal-oriented events, for example on energy efficiency and refrigerants and are involved in 
the (inter-)national rules and regulations of our industry.

The VDMA Air Handling Technology Association is the competence association for products and processes that focus on the management and treatment of air. It represents the manufacturers' interests in refrigeration and heat pump technology, air conditioning and ventilation technology, air pollution control, surface technology and drying technology. The members are well-known manufacturers of systems, equipment and components. Their innovative products and services serve a wide variety of applications in our living and working environments. The services for the more than 300 member companies focus on the technical-scientific exchange of experience, market information, technical statistics, rule-making and standardization.

Manufacturers of technical fire protection systems and of mechanical smoke extraction systems are organised in the specialist department for air pollution control. The member companies are involved in the fire protection and smoke extraction working group on the topic of ‘Safety in buildings and infrastructure facilities’.  

The specialist department represents economic and technical interests with its members, promotes cross-topic dialogue and the exchange of experience within the industry and with authorities. The working group maintains intensive public relations work, e.g. with the development of basic papers, information and standard sheets, and organises symposia for knowledge transfer.
