A heat exchanger coil is a device used to transfer heat from one fluid (liquid or gas) to another fluid, without the fluids coming into direct contact with each other.

Annular Coils

Circumferential corrugations create a continuous valley around the tube, significantly increasing the surface area and enhancing heat transfer.

Spiral Coils

Helical corrugations create a continuous spiral along the tube’s length, similar to annular coils, which increase the surface area. The curvature of helical tubes generates centrifugal forces, producing secondary flows that run perpendicular to the primary flow direction. These secondary flows enhance fluid mixing and improve the overall heat transfer coefficient, resulting in a more efficient process for certain applications.

Available in both 304 stainless steel and galvanised steel as standard, options are also available for 321 SS, 316SS and ultra heavyweight Inconel 625, depending on the application.

With its high velocity flow, ability to withstand a wide range of temperatures and exceptional corrosion resistance, our stripwound hose is a popular choice for exhaust systems, cable armouring and conduit as well as for the transit of granular solid materials such as grain, flour, sugar, ash and plastic injection moulding pellets.

Versatility and durability when you need it most.  

A durable and versatile choice, our corrugated/braided metallic hose, is suitable for use within a wide range of applications, including cryogenics, and where there is a need to convey particularly aggressive or corrosive fluids.

Able to withstand very high (up to 550°C), and very low (-250°C) temperatures, with no negative effect on pressure performance, many of our hoses are manufactured in accordance with ISO 10380 with some holding type approval certification to this standard.

The most commonly available materials are 321 and 316 grades of stainless steel.  321 stainless steel offers superior corrosion performance in a welded assembly compared with 304 stainless steel.  316 stainless steel has added molybdenum for even better corrosion performance in coastal and marine applications for example, the properties of Monel® 400 make it ideally suited to seawater applications and in chlorine transfer.  For applications where continuous temperatures greater than 550°C will be encountered, Inconel®625 and Hastelloy®C276 are particularly suitable.

Thanks to the corrugated design, Amnitec corrugated/braided hose has significant anti-collapse strength, making it suitable for submerged applications where external pressure is much greater than internal pressure.  Operating prressures can range from full vacuum to more than 800 bar, depending on the size and type selected.
