HYDRA® corrugated hoses

HYDRA® corrugated hoses are formed from seamless or longitudinally welded tubes and are available in a large variety of wall thicknesses, material types, and assembled configurations. They are typically used to provide leak tight connections when conveying fluids / gases either under positive pressure or vacuum. Metal hoses are used to absorb and compensate for static misalignment, dynamic motion, thermal expansion and vibration within pipe systems.

HYDRA® stripwound hoses

HYDRA® stripwound hoses are produced in a continuous process by profiling and winding of a metal strip on to a mandrel. Based on the low degree of process deformation, Stripwound hoses can also be made from a wide range of austenitic, ferritic & non-ferrous materials. Standard materials include stainless steel, zinc plated steel, and brass. Products are also available with additional protective coatings including chromium or nickel.

HYDRA® Corrugated Hoses

Corrugated hoses are manufactured from various materials with a corrugated profile. They are available for diameters ranging from DN 6 to DN 300, up to PN 250 (depending on nominal diameter) and for temperatures ranging from -270 °C up to max. 600 °C.

HYDRA Stripwound Hoses

Primary features of Stripwound hoses include their good flexibility, high resistance to both tensile / crush loads in addition to their basic chemical and thermal stability.

Stripwound hoses are used across wide range of industry sectors that include the measurement and control, communication, medical sectors.

Solar piping

Characteristics and areas of use

HYDRA expansion joints for gas applications ensure stressfree and safe pipe installation. They absorb system vibrations and movements and thus protect the piping network against damage. Axial expansion joints for gas applications reduce structure-borne sound transmission over the pipeline and avoid vibration and oscillation transmission.

Design and technical data

The expansion joint consists of a multilayered stainless steel bellows. Depending on the relevant case of operation, the bellows is available in the stainless steel materials 1.4571, 1.4541 or 1.4404. The expansion joints are delivered prefinished and assembled with the necessary connectors. The product range includes axial expansion joints with the most current connection fi ttings up to nominal diameter of DN 100.

Quality

HYDRA expansion joints are approved by the DVGW in accordance with DIN EN 30681 for use in the gas industry. Millions of these expansion joints have proven their absolute safety and reliability in practice. HYDRA expansion joints according to DIN EN 30681 with DVGW approval are available in the following nominal diameters:

• Axial expansion joints: DN 15 to DN 500
• Universal expansion joints: DN 150 to DN 500
• Angular expansion joints: DN 50 to DN 500
• Lateral expansion joints: DN 50 to DN 500

More performance in less space

Compared to conventional, flat-surface designed models, the corrugated hoses offer a significantly enlarged surface with up to 50 % more performance and corresponding high efficiency. Such high-performance, compact and light exchangers can be installed even in very confined spaces.

Temperature transfer due to optimised flow

The corrugations cause a turbulent flow inside the hose, which has an intensifying effect on the heat transfer. In contrastto laminar flow, a mixing of the temperature layers takes place and the fl ow speed decreases in the middle of the hose. Both effects increase the heat exchange performance signifi cantly.

Targeted turbulences for preventing deposits

Targeted turbulences result from the corrugated profile, which evenly mixes the fl owing medium. As a result, calcium deposits are prevented, which enables constant performance throughout the entire service life.
