Silicon Sealing Tape
Silicon Sealing Tape
Description
Silicon Sealing Tape is a rot-proof and thermally stabilized synthetic fiber tape, impregnated with a particular non-hardening mastic. The function of the tape is to seal threaded hydraulic fittings of any diameter and material, both with common gases (steam, methane, LPG), as well as with drinking water, heating and solar panels. In fact, it does not alter the smell, taste and purity of the water.
* It is a dynamic sealant as it adapts to all threads and any material, also compensating for wide play between male and female. Suitable for conical and parallel threads. Not suitable in case of contact with strongly oxidizing substances
BENEFITS:
Silicon Sealing Tape is clean and leaves no traces on the hands, it is economical, quick and
easy to apply. It allows the repositioning of the fittings and disassembly after years, preserving the
threads from corrosion. Withstands the typical vibrations of joints, in the vicinity of pumps and
compressors
COMPLIANCE:
Silicon Sealing Tape complies with the technical specifications according to UNI EN 751/2 Cl.
ARp, and is WRAS BS 6920 certified for drinking water, food liquids, DVGW EN 751-2 and TÜV
PROFICERT Product (consumer protection certification).
APPLICATIONS WITH GAS:
• Up to pressures of 5 Bar from -20 ° C to +70 ° C *.
APPLICATIONS WITH WATER:
• Up to pressures of 16 Bar at 95 °C.
• Up to pressures of 7 Bar at 130 °C *.
• Dimensional stability: 170 °C
* Data referred to the standard UNI EN 751/2 Cl. ARp
METHOD OF USE:
Apply normally as a common sealing tape on the thread, putting the slightly adhesive green part of
the tape in contact with the thread, exerting a certain tension, preferably starting from the beginning of the thread in the direction of the thread and returning towards the beginning for better aesthetics after covering the entire thread (see drawing 1).
In most cases it is not necessary to roughen or dent the thread, except on particularly smooth materials such as brass, stainless steel or chromed fittings. In any case, use according to the experience gained.
It can be torn simply by pulling it without the need to cut it. Allows repositioning of the fitting. Once the fitting has been loosened, within certain limits it can be tightened again. Do not exceed in quantity as a portion of the tape may be ejected
