NOVA Pumped Expansion and Pressurization Unit

Gebr. Tuxhorn GmbH & Co. KG

Description

NOVA Pumped Expansion and Pressurization Unit stabilizes water pressure by absorbing expansion and contraction movements within the system. It balances the volume changes caused by fluctuations in water temperature, ensuring stable system operation and extending the lifespan of installation equipment.

Thanks to its compact design, it occupies less space compared to traditional expansion tanks and minimizes operating costs with low maintenance requirements. Its smart automation system precisely manages pressure, preventing energy losses in the system.

Working Principle
The Pumped Expansion and Pressurization Unit ensures stable operation of heating and cooling systems by balancing pressure changes. When water temperature rises, the expanded water is drawn from the system and stored in the expansion tank within the unit. When the temperature drops, the missing water is pumped back into the system. This keeps the system pressure constant at ±0.1 bar accuracy, prevents energy losses, and extends equipment lifespan. The smart automation system allows integration with building management systems and offers remote control capabilities.

Key Advantages
Space Saving: Occupies up to 5 times less space compared to traditional tanks.
Controlled Operation: Maintains pressure at ±0.1 bar accuracy, ensuring system balance.
Energy Efficiency: Reduces operating costs with optimized pump management.
Low Maintenance Cost: Requires minimal maintenance thanks to its open-to-atmosphere, pressureless membrane design.
Automation Capabilities: Provides easy control with remote access, MODBUS connection, and LCD display.

tubra®-eTherm P3+ / P9+

The tubra®-e-Therm is a hydraulic unit with integrated control for thermal storage of photovoltaic power to optimise in-house consumption. The compact hydraulic unit can be connected as a module to hot water accumulators with drinking water and buffer accumulators with heating water. Retrofitting to existing drinking water and buffer accumulators is easy. The integrated power measuring device is installed at the grid feed-in point upstream of the power meter. This helps to ensure priority for domestic electricity system-side. The control manages the output of the electric heater to reflect the excess power generated by the photovoltaic system in order to avoid grid feed-in. Output modulation makes it possible to use the entire excess photovoltaic energy production thermally despite fluctuating energy production and fluctuating domestic electricity consumption.

The fast reaction time for output measurement and output modulation ensures that no grid current is used for heating purposes. Even low and fluctuating excess power can be converted to usable heat with a constant temperature. The accumulator is charged in layers top-down; usable heat is available after a short time, and conventional, fossil re-heating is suppressed. The tubra®-e-Therm can output useful charge temperatures even at low outputs thanks to dual modulation.

The electrothermal station

  • Can be used on buffer tanks and heating registers of drinking water storage tanks.
  • Perfect for retrofitting of existing accumulators.
  • A compact hydraulic unit with integrated output measurement, power control and accumulator charge management, independent of the inverter and power meter system.
  • Energy storage in hot water accumulators with far greater storage capacities than in batteries.
  • Fast output modulation up to 3000 W in combination with speed control of the charge pump for a constant target termperature up to 80°C and thus immediately usable heat.
