Conclusion to ISH digital 2021

The patrons of ISH gave the event a positive rating:

“We are all more than satisfied with ISH digital 2021. Our themes generated an international echo. We were always well aware that a digital fair cannot be compared with a physical fair, let alone replace it. Nevertheless, the international market leaders took part as exhibitors and thus confirmed the status of ISH as the world’s leading trade fair for the sector even under the difficult circumstances prevailing at present. On the visitor side, the installation trade was, as always, the largest group. However, many planners, engineers, architects and the trade took advantage of the facilities offered by ISH digital.

Peter Altmaier

The significance of the fair and its products and themes was underlined by the impressive political involvement. In addition to the prominent politicians at the opening ceremony, numerous representatives of Germany’s national political scene – from secretaries of state to members of parliament from all parties – took part. The biennial cycle of ISH trade fairs was maintained and with it the powerful image of the ISH brand.

ISH digital was a highly educative experience for all of us and we will employ this knowledge for ISH 2023, which will be rounded off by a variety of digital modules. We are confident that the next edition of the fair will once again be held in the exhibition halls of Messe Frankfurt.”

BDH – Federation of German Heating Industry

Andreas Lücke

Andreas Lücke, Managing Director BDH:

“In terms of energy policy, ISH digital 2021 was held at exactly the right time. Europe has formulated ambitious climate targets with the Green Deal and they can only be achieved by taking account of the biggest energy-consumption sector in Germany and Europe, the heating market. Under the motto ‘Green Deal ready’, the German heating industry and partners from the energy sector presented solutions for reducing CO2 and, thus, for achieving the energy targets at ISH digital 2021.”

FGK – Association of Air-Conditioning and Ventilation in Buildings

Günther Mertz

Günther Mertz, Managing Director FGK:

“ISH digital provided the air-conditioning and ventilation sector with an outstanding platform from which to communicate highly topical and socially relevant ways of reducing the risk of infection from Covid-19 through appropriate ventilation measures. Additionally, great interest was shown in the subjects of energy efficiency and the development of ErP regulations in the air-conditioning and ventilation business. Without doubt, ISH digital can be considered a success.”

VDS – German Sanitary Industry Association

Jens J. Wischmann

Jens J. Wischmann, MBA, Managing Director VDS:

“The premiere of ISH was a success! And thus sent out a clear signal as the world’s leading trade fair for the sector in these difficult pandemic times. Particular mention must be made of the part played by Messe Frankfurt and the technical team who implemented this digital format and its huge thematic spectrum not only highly professionally but also in a relatively short space of time! This represents valuable experience for future ISH fairs, which will certainly be hybrid events offering greater benefits for both exhibitors and visitors. To this end, the organisers must now work closely together with the patrons of the fair and the sector.

With its ‘pop up my bathroom’ trend forum, the VDS created a direct link to the previous physical fairs. A daily trend magazine, accompanying social-media activities on, for example, Twitter and Instagram, as well as 360 photographs and videos of the trend installations, resulted in excellent coverage and numerous views.”

VdZ – German Association for Energy Efficiency in Building Services

Kerstin Vogt

Kerstin Vogt, Managing Director VdZ:

“Digitalisation is firmly anchored in the DNA of today’s start-ups. And this is one of the reasons that our Startup@ISH-Programm has been so well received by their founders. Our content has also generated a lot of interest in the sector, where the digital revolution is in full swing, and ISH is exactly the right place to present it. We all benefit from the lessons learnt in 2021 and we will take account of them in the plans for 2023, which will once again be a physical event – with innovative digital features.”

ZVSHK – The German Sanitation, Heating and Air-Conditioning Association

Michael Hilpert

Michael Hilpert, President ZVSHK:

“Overall, we are satisfied with ISH digital. We always knew that a digital fair and its results cannot be compared with those of a physical event, let alone replace it. Nevertheless, the sanitation, heating and air-conditioning trade and international market leaders took part as visitors and exhibitors respectively, which confirmed the status of ISH as the world’s leading trade fair for the sector despite the difficult situation arising from the corona pandemic. The biennial cycle of events was retained and the power of attraction of the ISH brand thus maintained. Moreover, we learnt a lot over the last few days of ISH digital – and the great majority of the lessons were positive. This experience will be used for ISH 2023, which will therefore be significantly more successful than all previous events. And we are confident that this fair will take place in the halls of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre.”
