About us
WOLTER – Ventilation engineering since 1971.
Since 1971, WOLTER has been engaged in the design and manufacturing of axial and centrifugal ventilation fans for the building services industry as well as industrial use. In the building technology sector our focus is to provide efficient and durable solutions for general ventilation, smoke-extraction applications as well as for car-park and tunnel ventilation systems.
WOLTER maintains two production facilities in Germany as well as several subsidiaries in Asia that serve their respective local markets. Our production capabilities are characterized by state-of-the-art machinery and a high degree of vertical integration, including our own high-pressure die casting of aluminium components, which ensures comprehensive control over product quality. Our experience in aluminium pressure-casting is also drawn upon by various other manufacturers, for whom we serve as a component supplier. Evidently, our quality management system is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015.
Our product design process incorporates aerodynamic performance, acoustics and vibration engineering as well as drive and control technology. The highly complex interrelation between these factors always represents an engineering challenge that we face in each new project, whether it is the continuous improvement of existing product ranges, the innovative development of new product lines or the development of customer-specific solutions. In doing so we make use of modern development tools such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations. We employ this technology not only for the aerodynamic optimisation of our own products, but also in order to simulate the interaction between the fan and the entire ventilation system, as a fan is never a stand-alone machine but a component of a larger system that must be evaluated in its entirety. Here we can offer our support.
For research and development, quality assurance and factory acceptance tests, amply dimensioned in-house testing facilities and measuring equipment is at our disposal, including four fan test rigs, two of which are AMCA accredited.
All development, sales and commercial departments are centrally located in our head office in Malsch, Germany. Our sales staff is supported by a wide network of agents and sales representatives, local WOLTER companies and sales partners will assist you during all stages of your project, from design to after-sales service.
WOLTER is your competent partner in ventilation.
Our products are well-proven in virtually all general HVAC applications and meet constantly increasing demands with regard to energy efficiency and safety of public and private buildings. Modern ventilation technology thus sustainably lowers operating cost over the livetime of the plant – a decisive factor in new construction as well as in retrofitting existing buildings.

Impellers of AXV-AL / BXV-AL range axial fans are made from injection-mould aluminium. On larger fan sizes, hubs are made from a combination of injection-mould aluminium and cast iron. Casings are manufactured from hot-dip galvanized steel. Flanges are rolled and have a pitch circle according to DIN 24 154 R2 (half number of holes).
In the standard ranges, short- and long-cased versions are available. Different surface treatments such as powder-coating or different casing materials (e.g. stainless steel or aluminium) are available.
Different possible hub ratios for a given diameter and different solidities of the impeller allow for a very wide range of impeller configurations, significantly expanding the performance range and allowing to match the required duty points very precisely. Pitch angles are adjustable during standstill.
The IEC standard motors used in AXV / BXV-range axial fans are wired to an external terminal box and fans are shipped installation-ready.
Of course a wide range of accessories is available, including silencers and air-operated or motorized cowls for vertical installation as a roof fan up to temperature class 300°C/2h. WOLTER AXV/BXV axial flow fans are available for all forms of running.
