Why Laddomat?

Laddomat ensures, among other things, that the boiler reaches its operating temperature quickly by preheating the cold water in the buffer tank before it is passed on to the boiler. Without preheating, the risk of corrosion increases. Corrosion significantly shortens the life of the boiler.

Heat stratification - why and how?

If the buffer tank is to be used to its maximum, the water in the buffer tank must be stratified - when charging and discharging. Good heat stratification extends the time between charging cycles and improves domestic water and heating comfort. Stratification means that hot water forms a hot zone at the very top of the buffer tank above the cold water. The water in this hot zone maintains the same temperature, e.g. 70-80°C. The cold water maintains around 30°C. Laddomat directs hot water from the boiler into the upper part of the buffer tank so slowly that the heat stratification is maintained. Without Laddomat, warm water is mixed with cold water and charging is stopped before the entire buffer tank is warm. If you have a 500 litre buffer tank that maintains 50°C instead of 80°C, you lose almost half the amount of energy.
